Fun fact for your Monday: did you know that in Europe, “Bigfoot” is referred to as “Bigmeter”? You learn something new every day!
It’s a long-standing debate: what’s better? The metric system or the imperial system. As of 2019, the United States of America is the only industrialized country in the world that uses the imperial system as it’s predominant system of measurement. It seems we’re outnumbered and many Americans have even called for us to switch to the metric system.
Because of our loyalty to the imperial system, we call the infamous folklore creature “Bigfoot”. Some have argued that we should all unify as a society and call him another popular name: “Sasquatch”. But that doesn’t seem likely.
Some folklore experts have argued that it’s not one or the other. Instead, there’s a Bigfoot roaming around North America and a Bigmeter lurking through the woods of Europe. If this is the case, we have to ask the most important question: who would win in a fight? Bigfoot or Bigmeter?
