If you’re looking forward to next month’s Academy Awards show, you may be a little disappointed to hear that Oscars will be hosted by no one this year.
A few weeks ago, comedian Kevin Hart had to step down from hosting the show after a couple homophobic tweets from 2009 re-surfaced.
The search for a new host began immediately, but every single candidate had at least one questionable tweet that disqualified them from the job. This resulted in the Academy Search Committee‘s final decision on the matter: no one will host the Oscars this year.
Academy Spokesperson Jean McCallister released the following statement:
“The Oscars are an esteemed show that only perfect people can host. Your twitter account must be pristine if you want to host this show. We tried to get Jesus Christ to host the show, but he promptly declined.”
We checked Jesus’ twitter account and found the following tweet shortly after the Academy spoke with him about possibly hosting.
