Not once, not twice but three times an American man demanded he be undressed and his backside wiped after using the airplane restroom during a 14hr flight from Los Angeles, California to Taiwan.
Female flight attendants were told to go ‘deeper’ as the women cleaned up his backside.
The passenger demanded he have 3 seats due to his size. He was given the seats because the seats were available.
Since he couldn’t fit in the Coach restroom he was allowed to use the 1st Class one which was larger.
The passenger became irate when the attendants refused to help him so he threatened to go on the floor.
He also said his hand was injured so he could not remove his own clothes. They were essentially forced to do what he asked in order to avoid a more disgusting outcome.
‘As the passenger’s genitals were now exposed, one of my colleagues brought a blanket, which I used to cover his modesty. But he very angrily slapped my hand away, saying he didn’t want it and only wanted me to remove his underwear so he could use the toilet.’Kuo at the press conference.
While being wiped, the man humiliated Kuo with grunts of pleasure:
‘He said: “Oh, mmm, deeper, deeper,” and then accused my chief attendant of not properly cleaning his backside, requesting that she do it again.’
EVA Air, which only employees female cabin crew, has said its staff are not obligated to accept demands from passengers or those requiring special assistance.
However, the Taoyuan Flight Attendants Union, which is representing Kuo and her colleagues, argue that the problem is systemic, stemming from a service industry culture that frowns upon those who do not meet the customer’s every demand.
The union has suggested two solutions: ban the passenger and others like him, and begin hiring male cabin staff.
