I feel like I need to say this before I begin: the headline you just read is 100% real.According to a news station out of Canada called NTV, a 32-year-old man was found guilty of selling Percocet, a controlled substance containing Oxycodone and Acetaminophen. Oxycodone is a schedule-2 drug that is usually prescribed for pain following surgery.
In the man’s court hearing, he claimed he “didn’t know selling drugs was illegal.” He was prescribed the Percocet after a workplace accident and when his workman’s compensation wasn’t enough to live on, he decided to start selling the rest of his pills. Pretty solid way to make money if you ask me. The only problem? It’s super illegal.
The best part about this story is that this dude may actually have a legitimate defense because he didn’t know the drug contained Oxycodone. His lawyer plans on arguing that because he didn’t know the chemical composition of the pills, he can’t be held responsible. If this man is found innocent, he is officially the GOAT of playing dumb.
